The Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has received an overwhelming response with 52,423 applications submitted through its job application portal.Dr. Nureni Adeniran, the Executive Chairman of SUBEB, revealed this to newsmen in Ibadan on Thursday.
The application portal, which was opened for two weeks, closed after reaching the deadline set for July 9.SUBEB had earlier announced the recruitment drive to fill 7,000 positions for primary school teachers and 100 caregivers for special schools across the state.
Adeniran expressed satisfaction with the high level of interest shown by applicants, stating, “We are impressed by the response, which underscores the enthusiasm of people to work with SUBEB.”
He emphasized the closure of the portal due to the elapsed deadline but assured that the board had begun the process of reviewing applications to identify qualified candidates.
In addressing concerns about misinformation, Adeniran urged applicants to remain vigilant and advised them to monitor their emails and phones for updates on the recruitment process.
He outlined the next steps, noting that eligible candidates would be notified of the details for the computer-based test examination through their registered contacts.
“We are now focused on sorting the applications and will soon proceed with the examination phase,” Adeniran concluded.
