Teen actress Angel Unigwe has filed a lawsuit against veteran actor Kanayo O. Kanayo over allegations of contract breach.
According to Thepaan, on June 21, 2024, Kanayo publicly accused Angel of failing to honor a contract she signed for a production. He also alleged that Unigwe’s mother is notorious for removing her daughter from sets prematurely, thereby breaching agreements. Kanayo went further to threaten any future productions involving Angel.
In response, Juliet Kings Unigwe, Angel’s mother, issued a statement on Angel’s Instagram page on Wednesday, refuting the allegations and calling them false and slanderous.
“First, for the public record we wish to state categorically that we hold sacred the terms of any contract we enter into and we are fully committed to performing all lawful obligations required of us under such contracts.

“We vehemently deny the false accusations and slanderous statements contained in Mr. Kanayo’s video. We want to assure the public that we have done no such thing and are deeply hurt by these unfounded allegations.”
Juliet Kings Unigwe also revealed that legal action has been initiated and called on security agencies to step in and ensure Angel’s safety.
