Xoliswa Radebe, a 26-year-old South African lady, was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend in South Africa a week after graduating from university.
According to an NGO, Women for Change, Xoliswa’s decomposed body was discovered in her Pretoria apartment on May 7, 2024. She was allegedly beaten to death, and CCTV footage revealed that the last person seen with her was Xoliswa’s ex-boyfriend. The neighbors contacted her family after noticing a terrible odor emanating from her apartment.
Xoliswa graduated from the Tshwane University of Technology a week before her murder.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident and have arrested the ex-boyfriend in connection with the murder. The motive behind the killing is yet to be established, but it is believed to be a case of gender-based violence.
Xoliswa’s family and friends have described her as a bright and ambitious young woman who had a promising future ahead of her. Her death has sent shockwaves through the community, and there are calls for justice to be served.
The incident has also sparked outrage and concern over the high rate of gender-based violence in South Africa. Women’s rights groups are demanding stricter laws and greater protection for women against domestic violence and femicide.
Xoliswa’s death is a tragic reminder of the devastating consequences of gender-based violence, and her family and friends are left to mourn the loss of a young life cut short by senseless violence.
