The President of the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF )Mr. Ibrahim Musa Gusau, remains upbeat that the Super Falcons of Nigeria can still qualify for the knockout stages of this year’s Olympics games despite a woeful start.
Nigeria missed numerous opportunities in their both games against Brazil and Spain as they lost 1-0 each.
The Super Falcons have had a tremendous ball playing ability but lacks the composure in front of goal which have kept them from registering a goal yet in this year’s event.
The leader of Nigeria’s football body, the NFF, Mr. Gusau has not lost hope yet as he claims Nigeria can still make it to the quarter finals as one of the third best places teams in the tournament.
“We created a lot of(goal-scoring) chances; we know the game is still on for the next round of by the grace of God we can work harder than what happened today,” he said to totorinews.” Gusau said.
“There’s still an opportunity for us; and by the grace of God we can be better.” He added.
Nigeria will play another heavyweight in women’s football Japan in their last game of the group and a win against the Asian contingents can guarantee them a place in the last eight.
