President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the payment of Group Life Assurance for Nigerian Army members who died in the line of duty, along with the purchase of attack helicopters and other necessary combat equipment.

This announcement was made at the Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) 2024 in Jos, Plateau State, where the President, represented by Defense Minister Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, emphasized the army’s crucial role in Nigeria’s security and development.

Chief of Army Staff Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja reiterated the army’s commitment to improving operational effectiveness and troop welfare.

He noted the recent acquisition of helicopters to combat bandit activities and Boko Haram, and the implementation of an affordable housing scheme for soldiers.
