President Bola Tinubu has extended his congratulations to Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja in honor of his 80th birthday.
In a statement released on Wednesday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President (Information & Strategy), Rashidi was recognized as an accomplished businessman who served as the Governor of Oyo State from 2003 to 2007 and as a Senator during the Third Republic.
The statement highlighted that Oba Ladoja was elevated from Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland to a beaded-crown-wearing Oba by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, on August 12, 2024.
President Tinubu joined family, friends, and the people of Ibadanland in celebrating this significant milestone for the elder statesman.
Tinubu commended Oba Rashidi for his unwavering strength and courage in the pursuit of justice and noble ideals.
The President praised “the astute politician” for his dedicated service to the nation and his commitment to building a greater Nigeria.
He reminisced about their time together in the Senate during the brief Third Republic when fate brought them together.
Tinubu expressed gratitude for Oba Rashidi’s friendship and support over the years and prayed for continued wisdom, robust health, and strength for him as he commemorates this important occasion.
