President Bola Tinubu has praised the developmental efforts of Enugu Governor, Barrister Peter Mbah, during his official visit to the Coal City State.
Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting held at the Banquet Hall of the Enugu Government House, Tinubu expressed admiration for Mbah’s leadership, stating, “You are doing an outstanding job. I’m pleased that Enugu has made significant progress today and for the future. I commend Peter Mbah for his dedication to development.”
He noted Mbah’s ability to assemble a strong team and highlighted their discussions in Abuja regarding the technological advancements in the state and the governor’s ability to attract private sector engagement. “I recognize your background and the commitment you have fostered,” Tinubu added.
Setting aside political differences, the President emphasized, “The elections are behind us, and it’s time to focus on advancing our nation. You have shown a steadfast commitment to human development.”
“I do not concern myself with party affiliations. You are my ally, and I appreciate your focus and achievements. We must work together to build our nation, addressing not only our current needs but also those of future generations.”
Tinubu explained the necessity of removing the fuel subsidy, stating, “We cannot jeopardize the future of generations yet to come. It is vital to ensure we do not bankrupt the nation before they are even born.”
He expressed pride in Nigeria, noting that Governor Mbah shares that sentiment, as he tirelessly works to improve security and attract both foreign and local investors. “There is no greater investment than ensuring the safety of lives. I was impressed by the Distress Response Squad vehicles; that’s the direction we need to take.”
“Please continue to support and collaborate with your friend and brother, Mbah, who is genuinely committed to advancing the development of Enugu State and serving as an exemplary leader for the southeastern region,” he urged the stakeholders.
