President Bola Tinubu has extended his condolences to the Government and people of Ondo State over the passing of Temitayo Oluwatuyi, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
In a statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Tinubu expressed deep sorrow over Oluwatuyi’s death on Saturday, following complications from injuries sustained in a December 15, 2024, accident.
Fondly known as “Tukana,” Oluwatuyi was a seasoned political stalwart who served as SSG with distinction under two administrations—initially appointed by Governor Rotimi Akeredolu in 2020 and later reappointed by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Legacy of Service
President Tinubu praised Oluwatuyi’s unwavering dedication to public service, noting his roles as the former Chairman of Akure South Local Government and Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs. Tinubu acknowledged his significant contributions to strengthening democracy in Ondo State and his role in policy coordination and implementation, which drove the state’s development.
Words of Comfort
The President offered prayers for the repose of Oluwatuyi’s soul and asked for divine comfort for his grieving family, friends, and political associates.
“Temitayo Oluwatuyi exemplified commitment to service and progress. His loss will be deeply felt across Ondo State and beyond,” Tinubu remarked.
