PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS NEW LEADERSHIP FOR THE NIGERIAN PORTS AUTHORITY (NPA)
President Bola Tinubu has made a significant move by appointing Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho as the new Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA). Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho comes to the role with an impressive academic and professional background. He holds a Doctorate degree in Maritime Technology from Liverpool John Moores University in the United Kingdom, and a Master’s degree in International Transport from Cardiff University of Wales, also in the United Kingdom.
His extensive experience within the NPA is noteworthy, having previously served in several key capacities including Assistant General Manager, Technical Assistant to the Managing Director, Port Manager at Onne Port, and Principal Manager in charge of Tariff & Billing. Dr. Dantsoho’s deep understanding of the maritime sector is expected to drive significant improvements in the NPA’s operations.
Senator Adedayo Adeyeye, the newly appointed Board Chairman, brings a wealth of experience from diverse fields. A seasoned lawyer, journalist, and politician, Senator Adeyeye has previously served as the Minister of State for Works and as a Senator representing the Ekiti South Senatorial District. His multifaceted career and extensive legislative experience are anticipated to provide strong leadership and governance at the board level of the NPA.
