Nollywood actress and media personality Toke Makinwa has expressed her dismay at those exploiting the ongoing nationwide protests to vandalize and loot properties belonging to fellow Nigerians.
Reports from Thepaan indicate that on Thursday, numerous Nigerians took to the streets to protest against the severe hardship prevailing in the country. However, amidst these peaceful demonstrations, some individuals took advantage of the situation to loot both government and private properties in various areas.
Reacting to the incidents on her X handle Thursday evening, Makinwa criticized the actions as unjustifiable. She emphasized that the people whose properties were being looted were also enduring the same hardships.
“Destroying properties and stealing from your fellow Nigerians who are passing through the same hardship is not right at all. This is very sad,” she wrote.

In response to a critic, Makinwa clarified that her tweet was not an accusation against the protesters themselves.
“I did not say the stealing and vandalism was done by protesters. The people who have their things stolen are Nigerians too, going through the same hardship. What have they done to deserve this?” she explained.
