A land dispute in the Saje area of Abeokuta, Ogun State, has led to the tragic death of a young bike rider, Kabiru, a married man with three children.

The conflict arose over a half-plot of land Kabiru had purchased, adjacent to another half-plot owned by a woman popularly known as Iya Adura, a celestial church member.

Both parties had been embroiled in a disagreement over a walkway, with the land being too tight and leaving no room for proper access.

Efforts by local landlords’ associations and even the police to mediate and resolve the issue had failed.

However, the dispute took a fatal turn last night when Kabiru was washing his bike, he noticed that Iya Adura had blocked his access walkway yet again. Kabiru attempted to clear the blockage, but this led to a violent confrontation.

According to eyewitness reports, Iya Adura Allegedly ordered four men dressed in white garments to attack Kabiru. Despite efforts by Kabiru’s wife to raise an alarm and call for help, the men brutally beat her husband, leaving him dead.

The tragic incident shocked the community, with Iya Adura being arrested by the police for her role in the violent attack. The case is currently under investigation.

Residents of Saje have expressed grief and anger over the unfortunate death of Kabiru, a hardworking man trying to provide for his family. Many are calling for justice to be served swiftly to prevent further escalation of such disputes in the community.
