A young lady was electrocuted while charging her phone and receiving a call simultaneously.The unfortunate event took place in the Orile area of Lagos, leaving the community in shock and mourning.
Eyewitnesses reported that the lady, identified as 23-year-old Olajumoke Afolabi, was at home when the incident happened. According to her neighbor, Mrs. Otun, Olajumoke had plugged her phone into a power outlet and was speaking to a friend when she suddenly collapsed.
Emergency services were immediately contacted, and paramedics arrived at the scene within minutes. Despite their efforts to revive her, Olajumoke was pronounced dead on arrival at the nearby hospital. The cause of death has been confirmed as electrocution.
Residents of the area have expressed their deep sorrow and concern over the incident. Many have called for increased awareness about the dangers of using mobile phones while they are being charged, especially in a country where power fluctuations and faulty electrical wiring are common issues.
