A love feast at a white garment church in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, turned tragic as no fewer than five individuals lost their lives after consuming a meal served at the gathering. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, leaving the community in shock and mourning.
Several other attendees who partook in the feast were rushed to the Infectious Disease Centre in Olodo, where they are currently receiving treatment for food poisoning. Medical personnel at the facility are working tirelessly to manage the situation and stabilize the victims.
Eyewitnesses reported that the affected individuals began showing symptoms such as severe stomach pain, vomiting, and dizziness shortly after eating. The church’s leadership immediately raised the alarm and called for emergency medical assistance.
