A 25-year-old man, identified as Elijah has reportedly taken the life of his girlfriend in Uyo. The Akwa Ibom State Police Command apprehended the young man, known as Elisha, for the alleged brutal murder of his girlfriend, Edima.
It was reported that the suspect, Elisha, allegedly took the life of his girlfriend who worked as an auxiliary nurse on Tuesday evening, May 14, 2024, at his residence on Atiku Abubakar Way, Uyo.
A source who spoke with us mentioned that the suspect in question arrived home with his girlfriend, and upon entering the room, he started to harm her physically.
The source stated that an elderly woman in the compound overheard the commotion and fights and went ahead to advise the young man to stop the violence, but he refused. Since they were unable to intervene, they contacted the father of the suspect who resides far from the area to come and manage the situation. When the suspect father came and saw him in the compound, he blocked the door to prevent anyone from entering and went ahead to call for help from others.
Sadly, before the others could reach the compound, the boy had already taken the life of his girlfriend and cut her into pieces. He then went ahead to hide in the ceiling of the room, where the police found him and brought him down for arrest.
