In a tragic turn of events, residents of Benin City woke up to the shocking discovery of a man who had taken his own life on the night of June 6th, 2024. The incident occurred in the New Benin area, close to the marketplace.
Eyewitnesses reported that the lifeless body of the middle-aged man was found hanging from a tree in a secluded part of the neighborhood. The discovery was made early this morning by a local trader who was on her way to set up her stall.
Authorities were promptly notified, and officers from the Edo State Police Command arrived at the scene to secure the area and begin an investigation. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released to the public, pending notification of next of kin.
