Itori, Ogun State — The serene community of Itori was thrown into mourning this afternoon following the gruesome discovery of a beheaded young girl in a nearby bush.
The identity of the victim remains unknown at the time of this report.
Local residents stumbled upon the horrific scene during their daily activities and immediately alerted the authorities. The body, found in a secluded area, showed signs of a possible ritual killing, raising concerns about the safety and security of the community.
Ogun State Police Command has launched a thorough investigation into the incident. Speaking to journalists, the spokesperson for the command, DSP Oladele Banuso, expressed deep sorrow over the event and assured residents that the police are doing everything within their power to bring the perpetrators to justice.
“We condemn this barbaric act in the strongest terms and assure the public that we will leave no stone unturned in our quest to apprehend those responsible. We urge anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist the investigation,” DSP Oladele stated.
