Tragedy struck in the Sagamu area of Ogun State on Sunday evening as a gas explosion claimed the lives of two people, leaving one other critically injured. The explosion, which occurred at a gas refill station along Akarigbo Road, sent shockwaves through the entire community, with nearby residents fleeing for safety.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident happened when a gas cylinder being refilled suddenly exploded, causing a massive fire that quickly spread to nearby structures. Emergency responders, including the Ogun State Fire Service, were immediately dispatched to the scene to contain the fire and prevent further casualties.

The victims, who were caught in the blast, were reported to have sustained severe burns and were rushed to a nearby hospital, where two were later pronounced dead. The other is currently receiving treatment for life-threatening injuries.
