Akwa Ibom State Governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno has announced a monthly social welfare support programme for 5,000 unemployed youths in Akwa Ibom.
Governor Eno who announced this at this month’s Covenant Service said by resisting to join the nationwide hunger protest, Akwa Ibom youths have averted violent as recorded in other states.
Nigerians took to the streets to protest against the bad Governance of Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration.Akwa Ibom State have been able to caution the youths as the protest have been reduced to the nearest minimum in the state.
He explained that the welfare support programme will be unveiled in October 2024 and will accommodate unemployed youths across the 31 Local Government Areas of the State.
The State’s Chief Executive also applauded the peaceful conduct of the ruling PDP ward congresses and announced the postponement of the party’s councillorship primaries earlier slated for today, 2nd August to tomorrow, 3rd August, 2024, and chairmanship primaries, Monday, next week to enable the party put finishing touches for internal democracy.
