The University of British Columbia (UBC) in Canada has announced its prestigious International Scholars Program for 2025, offering full scholarships to exceptional international students. This program aims to attract talented students from around the world to study undergraduate degrees at UBC.

The UBC International Scholars Program covers tuition fees and provides a contribution towards living costs for selected students. Four categories of awards are available: Karen McKellin International Leader of Tomorrow Award, Donald A. Wehrung International Student Award, International Impact Award, and Vantage One Excellence Award. These awards recognize academic excellence, leadership skills, and commitment to sustainability and social justice.

To be eligible, applicants must be international students studying in Canada on a study permit, entering UBC from a recognized secondary school or transferring from a post-secondary institution. They must demonstrate superior academic achievement, financial need, and meet UBC’s admission requirements, including English language proficiency.

The scholarships can be renewed for up to three additional years of undergraduate study, provided students maintain satisfactory academic standing and financial need. UBC automatically considers all international students for merit-based International Major Entrance Scholarships and Outstanding International Student Awards.

Applicants must be nominated by their school or non-profit and submit a reference from an academic referee. They should gather required financial information and notes on extracurricular activities and awards. The application deadline is November 15, 2024, and admissions applications must be submitted by December 1, 2024.

This program offers an exceptional opportunity for international students to pursue their academic goals at a world-renowned institution. UBC’s commitment to attracting talented students from diverse backgrounds enhances its global reputation and fosters a vibrant academic community.

Interested students are encouraged to review the application requirements and submit their applications before the deadline. Successful recipients will join a community of scholars dedicated to academic excellence and making a positive impact globally.

The University of British Columbia’s International Scholars Program embodies its mission to attract and support exceptional students worldwide, promoting cultural exchange, and academic excellence. This initiative empowers students to achieve their full potential, shaping the next generation of leaders and change-makers.
