A 100-level Biology student at the University of Lokoja, Jeremiah Paul, has been arrested in connection with the kidnapping and murder of a fellow student, Abigail Damilola.
According to reports, Paul allegedly kidnapped Damilola and demanded a ransom of 400,000 naira. After receiving the ransom, it is believed that Paul killed Damilola. The police have confirmed that the body of the victim was recovered during the investigation.
The arrest has sent shockwaves through the university community, with many students expressing disbelief and grief over the tragic incident. University authorities have promised to cooperate fully with law enforcement in the ongoing investigation.
The police have urged anyone with further information about the case to come forward as they continue their inquiries. The University of Lokoja has also announced plans for counselling services to support students affected by the incident.
