Internet users have raised suspicions after American singer Usher’s X (formerly Twitter) account was briefly deactivated just days after his mentor, Sean “Diddy” Combs, was arrested on federal sex trafficking and racketeering charges.

Usher, 45, addressed the situation on Sunday, September 22, after his account was restored, writing, “Account got hacked and damn y’all ran with it! See you tonight at Intuit Dome.”

However, many X users were skeptical of the timing. One user commented, “You must really think we are stupid,” while another added, “What?? Lol, timing is JUST a coincidence huh?”

Some questioned whether the account was genuinely hacked. One person asked, “Did your account really get hacked or you’re not telling us something?” Another user noted, “That account wasn’t hacked baby,” suggesting the deletion could foreshadow future trouble for Usher.

Defending the singer, one fan wrote, “I been tweeted this EVERYWHERE that your acct was hacked and these ppl spreading fake news, GO OFF KING!”

Usher’s connection to Diddy dates back decades, with Diddy acting as the executive producer on Usher’s 1994 debut album and mentoring him during his early years in the music industry. Usher lived with Diddy in the 1990s, an experience that Usher has described as exposing him to “curious things” and “wild” behavior.

The resurfacing of these past statements and the coincidence of the account deactivation have left fans speculating about what may come next for the R&B star.
