Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan, a prominent Nigerian social media influencer, is scheduled to appear before the House of Representatives on Monday in connection with bribery allegations involving the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
VeryDarkMan recently released an audio recording featuring crossdresser Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky, in which he purportedly admits to bribing EFCC officials with N15 million to have money laundering charges against him dropped.
In the alleged recording, Bobrisky claims that he did not serve his full six-month sentence at Kirikiri prison in Lagos, stating that his godfather arranged for him to stay in a lodge instead.
The House of Representatives, disturbed by these allegations, has summoned VeryDarkMan, Bobrisky, and EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede as part of their investigation into the claims.
VeryDarkMan’s attorney, Deji Adeyanju, confirmed that his client intends to cooperate fully with the inquiry.
In a statement to Daily Post on Sunday, Adeyanju said, “We will be at the National Assembly tomorrow with our client @thatverydarkman to assist in investigations regarding Bobrisky’s claims of paying N15 million to drop money laundering charges and bribing prison officials for accommodation.”
