Vice President Kashim Shettima has come forward to label President Bola Tinubu as the most criticized politician in Nigeria.
Kashim Shettima claimed that his own residence in Maiduguri surpasses Tinubu’s Bourdillon home in Lagos, yet the public continues to vilify the president.
Despite the negative portrayal, the Vice President expressed his belief that Tinubu possesses a genuine spirit and has the nation’s best interests at heart.
During his remarks in Abuja on Thursday, Shettima emphasized that Tinubu is a trustworthy leader who is not in office for personal gain, stating that the president is instead driven by a desire for honor and achievement.
“I’m not just engaging in politics; I’m sharing my sincere thoughts. I have witnessed Bola Tinubu’s true character, and it is commendable,” he asserted.
“He genuinely cares for our country and aspires to attain a legacy of glory. He is not seeking power to amass wealth. He truly is the most unjustly criticized politician in Nigeria.”
Reflecting on his visit to Tinubu’s residence, Shettima expressed surprise, expecting a grand estate akin to Buckingham Palace, but found it to be quite ordinary. “My home in Maiduguri is more impressive than what I saw in Bourdillon,” he remarked.
He urged Nigerians to rally behind Tinubu as he strives to tackle Nigeria’s pressing socio-political, economic, and security issues, assuring them that the tough measures being implemented will soon yield positive results.
Shettima encouraged the public to shift their focus away from past and present challenges, advocating instead for a collective effort to address the nation’s core problems.
