Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminanayi Fubara, has shared new insights regarding the ongoing political issues within the state, emphasizing that divine guidance plays a crucial role in the situation.
During a Christmas Ballad event hosted by former Governor Peter Odili, Fubara expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the citizens of Rivers State for their steadfast support throughout the crisis.
He acknowledged the ongoing tensions with his predecessor, former Governor Nyesom Wike, but reaffirmed his dedication to pursuing a just and righteous path for the state.
Fubara remarked, “My strength is not solely my own; it stems from the unwavering support of the true people of Rivers. Each day, as I witness your encouragement, I grow stronger in my resolve.”
He further stated, “It is not just about me. You all are the ones who empower me, who advocate for me. How could I not stand up for you?”
The governor also expressed his strong belief in a higher power, saying, “Ultimately, the greatest change agent, liberator, and protector is God Almighty. With Him on our side, success is guaranteed.”
Looking ahead, Fubara assured the people of Rivers State that the year 2025 would bring positive changes, vowing that his administration would work diligently to foster significant progress and development. He extended his gratitude to former Governor Odili for his gracious hosting.
In his remarks, former Governor Odili commended Fubara’s leadership, stating, “You have faced political challenges head-on, thwarting attempts by individuals to monopolize the state, thus freeing the people of Rivers and ensuring stable governance.”
Odili reflected on the past year, recalling the intense struggle that took place over the soul of Rivers State, and expressed his family’s desire to honor Fubara for his resilience and exemplary leadership.
Justice Mary Odili, who presented gifts to Fubara and his family, also voiced her support, affirming, “God foresaw the need for a liberator, and He has blessed Rivers State with Governor Fubara.” She promised her family’s ongoing support for the success of his administration.
