There is much to talk about regarding the situation of Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen as the transfer window draws to a close on Friday.
It has been clear since June that Victor Osimhen wants to leave Napoli and the feelings have been mutual from day one.
Osimhen’s release clause in his current contract at Napoli remains at €120 million and clubs are sweating to meet that remain.
Osimhen is currently one of the highest-paid players in Italy and he is not ready to drop on his wages.
Paris Saint-Germain agreed on personal terms with the former Lille man in July but the club’s valuation in terms of transfer fee with Napoli drew a line in the deal.
Arsenal also were interested in Osimhen at some point but couldn’t afford either his wages or the release clause.
Chelsea remained the latest Premier League club to show keen interest in the player and are currently negotiating on personal terms after Napoli remains desperate to let him leave.
With the European transfer window set to close on Friday, Napoli wants to get a deal done as soon as possible and two clubs remain leading candidates to land Victor Osimhen.
Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli has presented a better package in terms of wage bill but Osimhen remains interested in paying in Europe next season.
Chelsea on their part is having a new wage bill structure as they seek to reduce their payment plans and Osimhen only wants either an improved salary or the same as he is currently earning at Napoli.
The deal solely depends on Chelsea as it is not either they offer a better salary structure and own Osimhen or he will have to accept the Saudi Deal which he is going to earn around ten to eleven million Euros annual salary.
