Torkwase Kpile, a 29-year-old lady from Achusa Village in Makurdi Local Government Area, Benue State, allegedly stabbed her husband to death over a sex disagreement.

The reporter gathered that the couple, who married two months ago, fought about sex before the lady picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed the man in the neck.

She reportedly stabbed her husband, Igbah Kpile, numerous times before he collapsed.
Neighbours who were attracted by Kpile’s scream raced into the home and met him in a pool of blood, while his wife, unremorseful and enraged, accused her husband of disturbing her for sex.

Despite being transported to a local facility in Makurdi, Kpile died on the way and was declared dead upon arrival by the doctor on duty.

Meanwhile, the suspect, Torkwase, has been on the run, and police have launched an inquiry into the murder.

SP Catheren Anene, the spokeswoman for the Benue State Police Command, could not be reached to confirm the occurrence despite multiple phone calls by newsmen.

Meanwhile, Njoku Chioma, a 34-year-old woman, appeared before the Surulere Chief Magistrates’ Court on Monday for allegedly assaulting her husband with a broken plate in Lagos.

Njoku, residing at No 16, Ayo-Elegbede St., Aguda Surulere, Lagos, pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge of assault and damage to property.

The prosecutor, Inspector Courage Ekhueorohan, stated that Njoku committed the offences on April 6 at No 17 Adeonitimiri Crescent, Surulere, Lagos.

Ekhueorohan alleged that Njoku assaulted her husband with a broken plate on his head upon discovering his habit of bringing women to the house.

He explained that Njoku willfully damaged two Lexus cars with Lagos registration number EKY 526 EU and YAB 669 GG belonging to her husband by using an object to break the front and rear screens and the side mirrors.

He submitted that the complainant, Onyema Njoku and the defendant, Chioma, are in the process of their divorce and presently separated.

The offences, Ekhueorohan said, violate sections 173 and 350 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Magistrate, Mrs O.O. Otitoju, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000, with two responsible sureties in like sum.
Otitoju ordered that one of the sureties must be a blood relation and have their house addresses verified by the court. The matter was adjourned until May 16 for substantive trial.
