Jeremiah Estel Blair, a 19-year-old individual from Chandler, situated about 20 miles from Phoenix, stands accused of attempting to fatally shoot his parents in their home shortly after Mother’s Day had ended on May 13. The incident, reportedly driven by deep-seated grievances over his upbringing, unfolded when Blair, apparently dissatisfied with his family circumstances, executed a shocking and premeditated attack that he had allegedly been planning for several years.
Following the shooting, which occurred in the early hours of the morning, Blair’s parents were rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment to address the wounds inflicted upon them. Court documents obtained by Fox 10 reveal chilling details about Blair’s mindset and his admission of responsibility for the violent act. Additionally, these documents suggest that Blair articulated his frustrations about feeling neglected and mistreated during his upbringing.
“Blair reported being upset over his upbringing and he felt he was not treated as he should have been as a child,” stated Chandler police detectives in the court documents.

Blair admitted to harboring long-standing intentions to harm his parents, with the original plan aimed at attacking on Mother’s Day itself. However, he postponed the execution of his violent plan until the early morning hours following the holiday.
According to reports from the AZ Family, Blair strategically positioned himself with a firearm and a video camera, intending to document the chilling events that unfolded. When his father descended the stairs around 5:30 a.m., Blair seized the opportunity to carry out his disturbing plan, revealing to his father that “this day [was] coming” before firing a shot that struck his father in the forearm, based on details disclosed in the court documents cited by the Arizona Republic.
After wounding his father, Blair’s mother emerged from a nearby room, only to be met with another round of gunfire that struck her in the chest, according to the media outlet’s report.
In the aftermath of the shooting, Blair reportedly expressed a disturbing sense of satisfaction upon believing that his mother’s injuries were life-threatening, as documented in the court records.
“Defendant showed remorse for the fact that his parents will live,” stated the court documents.
Despite Blair’s acknowledgment of the wrongfulness of his actions, he persisted in attempting to end the lives of his parents. Law enforcement subsequently arrested Blair at the scene of the crime without incident.
