The Zamfara State Government has officially recognized the validity of the concerns raised by the protesters. These issues include the removal of fuel subsidies, the ongoing hunger crisis, and the severe insecurity that has been troubling the state.
During a meeting with the protesters at the Government House in Gusau, Nasiru Zurmi, who serves as the State Commissioner for Project Implementation, addressed the crowd. He expressed strong solidarity with the grievances of the local residents and acknowledged the difficulties they are experiencing. Zurmi emphasized that the government understands the seriousness of these problems and supports the people’s right to voice their concerns.
Zurmi made a formal appeal to the Federal Government, urging them to develop and implement solutions that will alleviate the hardships faced by the citizens. He highlighted the widespread public dissatisfaction and the negative economic impacts that have resulted from the removal of fuel subsidies. He stressed the need for the Federal Government to take these factors into account when formulating their response.
In addition to addressing the Federal Government, Zurmi also called upon the protesters to maintain a peaceful approach. He urged them to avoid any actions that might lead to the destruction of property.
