Arrangements are underway to ensure that the popular comic actor John Okafor, also known as Mr. Ibu, is given befitting burial as a legend and a big name in movie industry.
To carry out this fitting tribute to his acting legacy, a dedicated committee, according to Legit News, composed of his closest friends and family members has come together, to ask the public for financial contributions to help with their arrangements.
This committee planned on giving Mr. Ibu a befitting send- off burial due to his contributions to the world of entertainment.
The committee created a GoFundMe account to pledge for contributions and ensure the burial goes as planned.
In a resource made available to Legit. ng, the committee said: ” The Central Planning Committee (CPC) of Late John Okafor(Family & Friends) solicit financial support from the general public to help them executive a successful burial for the late Nollywood Legend. Mr Ibu suffered ailment which consumed tens of millions through hospital bills for almost a year. “
The committee listed the burial schedule as follows: ” Tuesday, June 25– novelty match between celebrities and Rangers FC; Wednesday, June 26– night of tributes (Life and Times of Mr Ibu); Thursday, June 27- wake- keep at his hometown, Amurri Nkanu West LGA Enugu state; Friday, June 28– burial ceremony; and June 30– Thanksgiving service. “
The CPC also expressed their gratitude to head prophet of Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry (CMDM), Snr. Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin of Effurun, Delta State, and a few other cheerful supporters who have already made contributions to ensure the success of the burial.
