The Commissioner for Youth Development in Ekiti State, Adesola Adedayo, expressed his support for the electronic membership registration initiative implemented by the national leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to Adedayo, this exercise, led by Abdullahi Umar Ganduje-led National Working Committee of the APC, will play a crucial role in assessing the party’s strength by capturing membership data and attracting new members to secure victories in future elections.
Speaking at the APC Electronic Membership Registration Train the Trainer Workshop in Abuja, Adedayo commended Ekiti Governor Biodun Oyebanji and APC Acting State Chairman Sola Elesin for allowing him to participate in this politically beneficial endeavor, aimed at strengthening the party’s acceptability.
He emphasized the importance of membership registration for the survival of any political party, particularly in a politically sophisticated environment like Nigeria.
Adedayo highlighted the significance of data in proper planning and stressed that the APC’s registration efforts are crucial for the party’s future as a ruling party.
Furthermore, he stated that the electronic data capturing through this registration will enable the party to plan ahead for the 2027 general elections, mobilize membership aggressively, and secure victories in off-cycle governorship polls, such as in Edo State, while retaining support in Ekiti and Ondo states.
Adedayo also noted that this strategic political action reinforces the perception that the APC is setting a precedent in the political history of Nigeria.
