According to a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, and cited by the LATEST_NEWS Blog, Ude alleges that individuals writing contents and praising President Tinubu’ s one year in office in newspapers and on social media were handsomely paid to do that.
Ude’ s post on X stated, ” TINUBU PAYING WRITERS N75K FOR WRITE- UPS PRAISING HIS ONE YEAR IN OFFICE. ” In his claim, he asserts that despite the lack of significant achievements during Tinubu’ s tenure, substantial payments of N75, 000 were offered to journalists and others for crafting positive articles or opinions about the President’ s performance.
The alleged scheme reportedly originated within a WhatsApp group managed by Tinubu’ s media aides, where journalists and other members discussed strategies to promote the President’ s image.
Ude’ s post suggests that even journalists who were not part of this group were approached and offered payment for producing favorable coverage of Tinubu’ s one year in office.
The revelation raises questions about the integrity of media coverage surrounding Tinubu’ s presidency and the potential influence of monetary incentives on journalistic independence.
While the veracity of Ude’ s claims remains to be verified, the seriousness of the allegations underscores the importance of transparency and accountability in media practices
” With nothing to show for his fruitless one year in office, Bola Tinubu is offering Journalists and others N75K to write positive opinion or article praising his one year in office.
” The strategy was developed in a WhatsApp group set up and managed by his Media Aides where Journalists and others are members.
” Some journalists who are not members of the WhatsApp group were contacted and offered N75K for one page write up praising Tinubu. It is not known if the N75K no enough to buy a bag of garri today, is what was actually budgeted for the project. “\
