Afrobeats star Burna Boy has recently made headlines with his bold statements regarding his colleague Davido. Burna Boy suggested that Davido’s marriage isn’t an ideal model to follow, a comment that came in response to a fan urging Burna Boy to settle down, taking inspiration from Davido.
The fan’s advice was shared amidst Davido’s ongoing child custody battle with his first baby mama, Sophia Momodu. Davido had recently accused Sophia of mentioning the tragic death of his son Ifeanyi, who drowned at his Lagos residence, in her counter-suit.
Following Davido’s public reaction, fellow artist Dammy Krane criticized him, comparing the pain to that experienced by the mother of Tagbo, a late friend whose death he partly attributed to Davido’s actions. Burna Boy intervened, asking Dammy Krane to remove his posts about Davido, but Krane refused. Subsequently, Burna Boy tweeted, “‘Odogwu too wise’ who no hear go feel.”
An X user, @BadLieutenant, commented, “Burna Boy, you should start planning for your future by getting married and starting a family. OBO has already set an example. You’re over 33 now, and you need to understand that you’re not getting any younger.” Burna Boy replied, “Baba make I just dey as I dey abeg, u nor see wetin him dey face like dis?”
Another user, @RealDreylo, remarked, “You can’t even answer a question like a reasonable person. LOL. Just big head and plenty beards.” Burna Boy responded, “Ok. But between me and you, Shey na betta example the guy use?”
When another user, @SunOfOba, asked Burna Boy if Adekunle Gold was a better example, he affirmed, “Ehen! Na wetin we dey pray for be that bros.” It’s worth noting that Davido recently married his longtime girlfriend, Chioma, in a grand ceremony in Lagos.

Additionally, Burna Boy has issued a stern warning to Dammy Krane over his allegations that Davido was involved in the death of Tagbo Umeike, who died on his birthday on October 3, 2017. Dammy Krane took to his X handle on Friday night, asserting that he is prepared to testify in court that Davido had a role in Tagbo’s death. He challenged Davido to sue him if his claims were false and expressed his readiness to expose Davido’s “dirty linens” publicly.
Krane wrote, “I’m boldly saying Davido has a hand in Tagbo’s death. If I’m lying, they should sue me, make everything cast for court. I ready help am spread all his dirty linen for public. Justice for Tagbo.”
In response, Burna Boy urged Dammy Krane to remove the post, emphasizing that this is not the proper way to address disputes. He criticized Krane for trying to implicate Davido in legal trouble, stating that he does not support involving the police in such matters.
Burna Boy commented, “Bro. WTF are you doing?? Take this down now!! Make me and u no get problem abeg. No be like this we dey handle differences. We both know how it feels to be locked up, why TF would you wish that on anyone? I gat love for u but I do not stand for none of this police ass sht. Take all this sht down please.” Despite Burna Boy’s warnings, Dammy Krane has not taken down the controversial post, and Davido has yet to respond to the new allegations.
