In a shocking and gruesome attack, a group of suspected cultists struck in the Ijoko area of Ogun State late Sunday night, May 26, 2024, beheading a petrol station attendant and fleeing with his body.
The incident occurred around 09:30 PM at a popular petrol station on the Ijoko Road. Witnesses report that the attackers, who appeared to be heavily armed, stormed the station, causing panic among the few customers and staff present.
The victim, identified as 32-year-old Adeko, was on duty when the assailants targeted him.
According to eyewitnesses, the cultists attacked with precision and speed, leaving no chance for intervention. After severing Adeko’s head, they took his body, leaving behind a scene of horror and disbelief.
Local authorities have cordoned off the area and initiated an investigation into the crime. Ogun State Police Command has called for calm among residents and assured the public that efforts are underway to apprehend the perpetrators.
