In a surprising turn of events, Anyim Pius Anyim, the former Senate President and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), has announced his decision to join the All Progressives Congress (APC). Stanley Okoro Emegha, the Chairman of APC in Ebonyi State, revealed that after persistent efforts from the party, Anyim has accepted the invitation to become a member of the APC.

This development has provided the APC with a unique opportunity to showcase Anyim’s support by featuring his pictures in the local government and councilorship elections rally held in Ivo, his hometown.

During the rally, Emegha expressed his admiration for Anyim, referring to him as a critical stakeholder within the party. Emegha emphasized the importance of Anyim’s inclusion in the APC, stating that his vast experience and influence make him an invaluable asset for the party’s negotiations in the Southeast region.

Emegha further revealed that personal meetings were held with Anyim in Abuja to persuade him to join the APC. The Chairman expressed his satisfaction in seeing APC posters bearing Anyim’s name and image at the rally, a clear indication of his consent and commitment to the party.

Emegha assured the audience that Anyim’s involvement in the APC is not limited to Ebonyi State but extends to the entire South-East region.

The official announcement of Anyim’s membership in the APC is scheduled for the 14th of next month, where his prominent role as a stakeholder in the party will be formally recognized.

This significant development is expected to strengthen the APC’s presence in the South-East and contribute to the party’s growth and influence in the region.
