Mrs. Elizabeth Egbetokun, the wife of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has encouraged
parents to provide quality education for their young children.
She particularly emphasized that every mother should create a supportive environment where children can grow, learn, and dream without fear. Egbetokun, who leads the Police Officers’ Wives’ Association (POWA), shared this message in Abuja during a donation of books and learning materials to students in POWA schools.
“As parents, it’s our duty to foster an environment where children can flourish, learn, and dream freely. We must ensure that every child receives quality education, healthcare, and above all, love and support,” she stated.
She pointed out that children who receive a good education early on are less likely to turn to crime, which benefits society as a whole.
She added, “Today, I want to recognize the resilience and bravery of children worldwide, especially those facing challenges such as separation from family, living in conflict areas, or dealing with illness or poverty.
“To all the children here today, remember that you are the heart of our nation, the hope for tomorrow, and the reason we strive to make the world a better place.”
