In a spirited move to expand its grassroots support base, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has launched a nationwide membership drive and registration campaign.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, clarified that this initiative is specifically aimed at welcoming new members into the party, without affecting the rights and privileges of existing members.
Addressing concerns regarding the ongoing exercise, Mr Ologunagba emphasized that the revalidation of membership is not required for current PDP members. He underscored that their status within the party remains unchanged and unaffected by the membership drive.
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP firmly stated that the primary objective of this campaign is to provide an opportunity for enthusiastic Nigerians who wish to join the party.
Mr Ologunagba called upon all PDP members and officers, particularly at the electoral ward level, to take note of this clarification and act accordingly.
He expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming response from millions of Nigerians who have already joined the party during the ongoing membership drive. He urged all PDP members to continue working together to fortify the party for the challenges that lie ahead.
The PDP looks set to embrace new horizons With this inclusive and progressive approach, welcoming a diverse range of voices and strengthening its position as a formidable political force in Nigeria.
