The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police have arrested a Point of Sale (PoS) operator named Sunday Musa, also known as Dan Gwari. Musa is accused of supplying sex workers to bandits in their camp and distributing money to the bandits’ families in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Benneth Igweh, the FCT’s police commissioner, revealed this information while presenting Musa at the police command in Abuja on Tuesday. Musa was arrested during a planned operation by the anti-kidnap unit in Kagarko. He is also suspected of being the main informant and logistics supplier for bandit groups led by a commander named Ardo, who is currently on the run.
Musa admitted to facilitating the movement of nurses, hard drugs, and sex workers for the bandits. He also confessed to acting as a financial courier, distributing over N20 million to the bandits’ families. Commissioner Igweh stated that Ardo’s bandit group, which Musa supports, consists of more than 15 members, all armed with AK-47 rifles.
In addition to Musa, the police also arrested a 41-year-old housewife, Ruqquaya Ibrahim, who is accused of supplying food and other essentials to the bandits. Ibrahim, a resident of Sabon-Wuse in Niger State, confessed to delivering food to a group led by Shumau, who is also on the run. She was apprehended in the Gidan-Dogo forest on her way to deliver supplies and led the police to Shumau’s residence, where they recovered 14 stolen cows.
