A shocking incident unfolded today in the Ogui New Layout area of Enugu, as a rent dispute between a tenant and landlord escalated into violence.

The tenant, identified as Mr. Kingsley, reportedly called in a group of thugs to assault his landlord, Mr. Nnamdi, over a disagreement concerning overdue rent.

Eyewitnesses report that around 4:30 PM, a heated argument broke out between Mr. Kingsley and Mr. Nnamdi. The landlord had been demanding payment for several months of overdue rent, while the tenant insisted he needed more time to gather the funds.

The situation took a violent turn when Mr. Kingsley allegedly summoned several men, who arrived on motorcycles and proceeded to physically attack Mr. Nnamdi. Neighbors, alarmed by the commotion, called the police.

The attackers fled the scene before law enforcement arrived, leaving Mr. Nnamdi with multiple injuries. He was quickly transported to the nearest hospital for treatment.

Medical staff have reported that while his condition is stable, he sustained significant bruising and a possible fracture.
