In the early hours of June 8, 2024, a brave operation by the Oyo State Police Command led to the arrest of three suspected ritualists in Saki. The raid took place around 5:30 AM.
According to the police spokesperson, the suspects were apprehended in a secluded building where various incriminating items were discovered. These items included charms, blood-stained clothing, and other ritual paraphernalia.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspects have been involved in ritual activities aimed at exploiting and harming individuals for personal gain.
“The arrest was made possible due to the vigilance and cooperation of the local community. We received credible information and acted promptly to ensure these individuals were apprehended before they could cause further harm,” the police spokesperson said.
Residents of Saki have expressed relief and commendation for the prompt action taken by the police. One resident, Mrs. Adeosun, stated, “We have been living in fear for the past few weeks, noticing strange movements and activities around that building. We are grateful to the police for their quick response.”
The suspects are currently in police custody and are undergoing interrogation. They are expected to be charged in court soon, as investigations continue to uncover the full extent of their activities and any possible accomplices.
