Two individuals suspected of committing rape, Rotimi Boluwatife and Adeyemi Tosin, have been apprehended for allegedly sexually assaulting two female students, Alimo Karimu and Temitope Ojo, by adding drugs to their noodles in the Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State.
It was said that the students headed off to school, Sholu High School in Ifo in the morning, but when one of them, Karimu, returned home, her behavior was off, making her parents suspect she was on drugs.
After some questioning from her parents, Karimu confessed and revealed that their neighbor’s child, Ojo, was found unconscious at the suspected rapist’s place.
The parents then went ahead and reported the incident to the Ifo Division Police Station, and the officers quickly took action by visiting the suspects’ house where they found Ojo in a critical condition.
The suspects were taken into custody, and they admitted to drugging the girls with cannabis-laced noodles, which caused them to be sedated before the assault.
According to the reporter, the Ogun Police Command spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident and provided a detailed description of what happened.
On May 22, 2024, around 19:00 hours, Karimu Modinat and Jamiu Jimoh from Olorunsogo Area of Ifo reported that their daughter, Karimu Alimo, 17 years old, and Temitope Ojo, 18 years old, left for Sholu High School Ifo at 07:42 hours. Karimu Alimo returned home at 14:42 hours showing signs of drug influence.
They also mentioned that during questioning, she reported that Temitope Ojo was found lying unconscious in a residence. Upon receiving the information, the DCB proceeded to the mentioned house where they apprehended Rotimi Boluwatife, 23 years old, and Adeyemi Tosin, 29 years old, from Ite Egun Area of Ifo.
Odutola stated that “Temitope Ojo was discovered in the house in a precarious state. They were all taken to the station. The suspect confessed to adding cannabis to prepare noodles, causing both girls to fall asleep, leading to the unfortunate incident of both being sexually assaulted”.
