Mr. Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has threatened to unseat an unnamed lawmaker who criticized his administration’s achievements.
He stated this during the inauguration of Phase I of the Mabushi Bus Terminal in Abuja on Monday.
Wike stated that he had heard a legislator on Arise TV that morning disparaging the progress made in the FCT, particularly highlighting issues in schools and healthcare facilities.
In response, Wike challenged the lawmaker, questioning their legislative contributions to improve education and healthcare.
Addressing the criticism, Wike asserted his authority as FCT Minister, emphasizing his commitment to the territory’s development.
He dismissed detractors and expressed pride in the achievements made under his leadership, noting the positive feedback received from the public.
In a separate development, Sen. Ireti Kingibe (LP-FCT) also voiced concerns on Arise TV about perceived marginalization of her constituency in FCT affairs, citing issues such as inadequate water supply and infrastructure development not meeting community needs in healthcare, education, and security.
