Record producer and singer Young Jonn recently shared a story about the most embarrassing moment of his career, offering a glimpse into the challenges he faced early on.

The ‘Dada’ hitmaker recounted an incident from 2014 that left a lasting impression on him. This occurred during the music video shoot for Olamide’s hit song ‘Awon Goons Mi,’ directed by the renowned music video director Unlimited LA. At that time, Young Jonn was still new to the YBNL record label and relatively unknown to many in the industry.

During a recent interview with MTV Base, Young Jonn explained the situation in detail: “Some years ago, we were on the set of ‘Awon Goons Mi,’ which was produced by Pheelz and me. Unlimited LA was shooting the video. I was new to the YBNL record label at that time, so he probably didn’t know me. Everybody was going to the front of the camera one by one to pose, but when it got to my turn, Unlimited LA shouted at me to leave the place. I almost died. It was as if I should enter the ground.”

The young artist described the experience as incredibly humiliating, noting that the public nature of the reprimand made it even worse. “There I was, just trying to fit in and be part of the crew, and suddenly, in front of everyone, I was being yelled at to get out of the shot. It was one of those moments where you wish you could just disappear,” he continued.

Despite the embarrassing setback, Young Jonn reflected on how the incident ultimately shaped his resilience and determination. “Looking back now, I realize that experiences like these are part of what toughens you up in the industry. They teach you to handle criticism and move forward no matter what,” he said.

Since then, Young Jonn has gone on to establish himself as a significant figure in the music industry, producing several hits and earning widespread recognition for his work. He shared this story not only to recount a personal challenge but also to inspire others who might be facing similar hurdles in their careers.

“But that is in the past now,” he concluded. “It was a learning experience, and I’ve grown so much since then. It just goes to show that even the most successful people have their difficult moments.”
